Dance With Me: This parent-child class will present activities to get both of you moving and create a special bond to last a lifetime. This is a great introduction to dancing for children just developing their coordination. The teacher guides the parent-child team in a way that makes discovering movement, balance and listening skills easy and fun. This class is an excellent first group activity. Class meets for 30 minutes weekly.

Arts In Motion: An early childhood arts education program focusing on emergent dance, music, and arts skills. Class meets twice per week: 3-4 year olds meet 4 hours per week; 4-5 year olds meet 5 hours per week.

Preschool Dance (Pre-Dance I & Pre-Tap I):
An introduction to the world of dance for the 3-4 year old. The primary goal of our Preschool classes is to foster a love of movement. Students work on basic coordination, locomotor skills, sequencing skills, and dance class etiquette—all the basics needed to continue the study of dance. Basic ballet, jazz and hip-hop skills are presented in our Pre-Dance I classes. Our Pre-Tap class is an introduction to tap dance. Each of our Preschool classes is 30 minutes, once per week.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade Dance (Pre-Dance II & Pre-Tap II):These classes build upon the skills learned in our Pre-Dance I and Pre-Tap I classes. Designed for 5-6 year olds. Each class runs 35 minutes once per week.

Ballet: A classical dance form that is the foundation for all dance forms. Our school offers multiple levels of ballet based primarily on the Cecchetti (Italian) method. Classes emphasize terminology and properly aligned skill execution. In addition, the study of ballet focuses on poise, grace, musicality, and performance quality while increasing strength, flexibility, and coordination. Progression through each level is based on a variety of factors including stamina, mastery of skills, and prior experience. Level I meets 45 minutes once per week. Levels II and III meet twice per week--60 minutes for Level II and 75 minutes for Level III.

Pre-Pointe: A class preparing dancers for pointe shoes. Class emphasis will be placed on strengthening or the feet, ankles, and core. Proper alignment and execution of skills will be stressed. This class is presented in Ballet II. Students will not wear pointe shoes in this class.

Pointe: While working in pointe shoes, students will progress from basic fundamentals at the barre to centre and across the floor work. Students must exhibit adequate strength, stamina, have a strong working ballet vocabulary and the ability to properly execute skills before pointe work may be considered. This class must be taken in conjunction with Ballet III.

Jazz versus Hip Hop:Jazz style of dance is what is seen in many Broadway type shows such as Grease, Cats, and Hairspray. It is a more structured, stage style of dance. Hip-Hop is a fast, high-energy, street-influenced style of dance seen in music videos and commercials. Dance moves seen in shows such as Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and N’Sync would be typical examples of Hip-Hop.

Jazz/Hip-Hop:This class enables students to take the 2 most popular forms of dance in one class—jazz & hip-hop. We have found that the combination of jazz and hip-hop is ideal for beginning to advanced dancers. Students learn the necessary elements of jazz which are crucial to success in hip-hop. They also get to learn hip-hop moves which require the coordination and balance learned from jazz. Increasingly difficult skills and movement will be presented as students advance to the next level. The level I class meets 45-minutes per week while the level II class meets for 60 minutes. Level III meets for 75 minutes once per week.

Modern: An expressive form of dance performed without shoes, utilizing body contractions, flexed feet, off-center body shapes, and floor-work. The Level II/III class is 75-minutes class once per week and is designed for intermediate to advanced teen and adult students. Watch a clip
